THE BILTMORE INTERNATIONAL FOOD & WINE
WEEKEND
TO FEATURE THE ARTWORK OF PAINTER GILDA SACASAS
Festival poster, “Noche Abierta” available for sale
throughout the weekend
Coral Gables, FL -- Gilda Sacasas returns to the Biltmore International
Food & Wine Weekend as its signature artist for the fourth consecutive
year. Her original artwork, entitled “Noche Abierta,”
graces the festival’s poster and all related promotional and
communications materials. The original 25 x 30 acrylic-on-canvas
painting will be auctioned at the festival’s Interactive Culinary
Luncheon on Sunday, May 1.
The Cuban-born artist, who is greatly influenced by Picasso, began
her art career in 1993. Sacasas has exhibited her work in the US,
Canada, Puerto Rico and Europe. In the Old World, she had exhibits
in Basel, Switzerland, Livorno, Italy, and several cities in Spain.
She exhibits permanently in her own Coral Gables gallery, GDS Fine
Arts Studio.
“My paintings are usually about life, romance, feelings and
emotion,” says Sacasas. “’Noche Abierta’
symbolizes an evening open to love, tenderness, a couple and the
beauty that surrounds them.”
The Wine Weekend poster will be on sale for $15.00 throughout the
event. Proceeds from the poster sale and the live auction of the
original painting will benefit the University of Miami Sylvester
Comprehensive Cancer Center.
