HOT DISH: SOBE SIGNATURE EPICUREAN EVENT JUST GOT BETTER
The Cellar Club at the Biltmore Boutique Event to become integrated with Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival

MIAMI, FLORIDA, April xx, 2007 – How does a championship team stay on top year-to-year?  It continuously adds new talent and depth, thus ensuring ongoing success. It’s hard to imagine improving South Florida’s celebrity-studded food and wine event, the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival — yet Lee Schrager, the Festival’s Founder and Director, is not one to rest on his laurels. By integrating the Biltmore’s boutique event to the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, Schrager and his team have succeeded in raising the bar to greater heights….again.

For ten years, The Cellar Club at the Biltmore has been presenting an annual boutique food & wine weekend, a combination of its year-round lifestyle programs coupled with a stellar line-up of chefs and wineries. Next year the Cellar Club’s annual food & wine weekend will be fully integrated with the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the Biltmore and Cellar Club’s new association with the Festival,” commented Schrager about the Biltmore’s new affiliation with the Festival next year and moving forward. “The progression is a natural one considering we host the majority of our non-beach events like the Golf Tournament and the Interactive Lunches at the Biltmore so we are thrilled to have their full support and commitment to the Festival.”

“This is a great development for both events” said Cellar Club Director, Yvonne Roberts. “Our standards and objectives have been the same – to provide a quality experience to our constituents – and we both have important historical relationships with the Florida International University School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Teaching Restaurant and Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center.”

Proceeds from the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival benefit the Teaching Restaurant and the Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center, both located at Florida International University (FIU).  By joining forces, the Biltmore enhances its already extraordinary relationship with the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at FIU, where Gene Prescott, a Biltmore owner, sits on the University’s Advisory Board.

“Just as the annual Art Basel Fair made Miami a world-class art destination, the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival is defining Miami as a world-class food and wine venue, second to none” says Dennis Doucette, Biltmore General Manager.

Mark your calendars now for the most anticipated food and wine event in 2008, the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival from February 21-24, 2008. For more information, visit www.thecellarclub.com and www.sobewineandfoodfest.com
